NORWEGIAN GETAWAY to feature Geoffrey Zakarian restaurant

Norwegian Cruise Line announced that Food Network chef Geoffrey Zakarian will open a second seafood restaurant for the line on the 144,000-ton NORWEGIAN GETAWAY. He already is creating Ocean Blue by Geoffrey Zakarian for the NORWEGIAN BEAKAWAY, due out in April. NORWEGIAN GETAWAY will sail year-round Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami beginning February 1, 2014.

In addition, the NORWEGIAN GETAWAY also will get 678 Ocean Place and The Waterfront. Zakarian’s restaurant will be located in 678 Ocean Place, three decks of restaurants, bars and shops along The Waterfront, the ship’s oceanfront promenade. Ocean Blue will offer a luxury seafood dining experience. Ocean Blue on The Waterfront will be a more casual dining option, while The Raw Bar will serve crustaceans and wines by the glass.

Zakarian regularly appears on Food Network TV shows “Iron Chef America” and “Chopped.” He currently runs two restaurants in New York City—The Lambs Club and The National—and The Water Club at Borgata in Atlantic City.
